News to Note

Have you checked out the Ginger Grille at G and G Supermarket? It's a huge commercial kitchen/demonstration kitchen that I've been teaching out of for my kids cooking classes in Santa Rosa. It's tucked behind the floral department so you might not have seen it, but make sure to check it out the next time you're there...we're cooking up some fun classes for the spring there (and will also be at the Community Centers in Windsor and Rohnert Park. Hope to see you in the kitchen in 2012!

Keep In Touch

At our fairy tea, guests take home wings and edible wands as party favors.

Patacake Parties is pleased to offer home birthday parties on Saturdays and Sundays, allowing you to enjoy your child's birthday party in the privacy of your own home, but without having to worry about how to entertain the kids, or what to serve. Leave that part to us!

A Patacake Party is an in-home cooking lesson for your child and 7 guests in honor of a birthday or other celebration. Our cupcake class is by far the most popular, but we’ve hosted everything from Teddy Bear Teas to Spaghetti Suppers. We’ve listed details for our most requested parties, but we are always open to “cooking something up” to specifically suit your party.

All parties are hosted in your home. We find that 8 is the ideal number for in-home cooking parties, allowing all children a real hands-on experience. If you have more than 8, consider a cupcake or cookie decorating party instead. Or we can provide all the food for you and help you throw a tea party. Let’s talk!

Parties start at $280 for 8 children. Parties include the following

  • Party Consultation in your home.
  • All ingredients and supplies for the cooking class.
  • Recipe packets, paper chef hats and edible party favors (depending on party) for all kids
  • A Patacake Parties apron for the birthday child.
  • An instructor and assistant for the day of the party. We arrive 45 minutes before the party begins to set up the cooking lesson and decorate the dining room table. The lesson lasts between 60 to 90 minutes depending on the menu. We clean up the kitchen while your guests are enjoying the meal, and then clean up the dining room after they are done eating.
  • Beverages, plates, and utensils are also provided.

And here are some of favorite parties:

A classic cupcake party: Guests make a batch of cupcakes (of the birthday child’s choosing) and frosting as well. We then have a little lesson on rolling out fondant and piping, and the kids decorate cupcakes for dessert, as well as one to take home.

Tea time: Guests make scones and a dessert for the party, and enjoy their tea fare in a themed tea salon (your dining room). Themes include Fairy Tea, Dress-up Tea, Mad Hatter Tea and Teddy Bear Tea.

Spaghetti Supper: Kids learn to make pasta from scratch and a classic spag sauce, as well as garlic bread and a simple salad.

We currently host Patacake Parties only on Saturdays and Sundays. Since we also have classes scheduled on weekends, please plan on contacting us at least 6 weeks prior to the birthday to reserve your date. A non-refundable deposit of 1/3 the total cost of the party is due when reserving the date. The balance is due the day of the party.
